If you had a knee or hip surgery between 2016 to present time and suffered from an infection you qualify for the initial inquiry. A further investigation through medical records will allow us to determine if you used Bair Hugger® and was a source of your infection.
The most common complications were MSRA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus), Sepsis, MRSA Pneumonia, or other skin infections.
The main claim is that the warming blankets create a potential to move small particles in or around operating rooms that increase risk for infection.
The recall noticed made note of a design change that prevented some devices from fully inflating. The recall was not in recognition of the infection risks.
